Pronounced "tee-en," Tein is one of the number one suspension upgrade manufacturers for sport compact cars.

From Tein's website:

TEIN Type BASIC damper is for the driver that is seeking high performance with a reasonable price. The Basic damper MSRP starts at $750.00, which includes 4 springs and 4 shocks. Compared to the "sleeve type" coil over, the Type Basic has a more exclusive set up for a better balance of suspension travel and damping force.

* High performance and cost effective.
* Ride Height adjustable.
* New paint coating for rust prevention.
* Pillow ball mounts are optional (on certain applications).
* Exclusive design for USA vehicle specifications.
(only available for the U.S.A Market).
* Available for overhaul.

Contents of damper kit
Height Adjustable shock absorber x4, Main spring x4
Lower spring seat x4, Seat lock x4, Thrust washer x4
Bump rubber x4, Dust cover x4
Hook spanner x2, Instruction manual

*Strut suspension comes with upper spring seat.

Availability:
Not all cars supported by Tein have the type basic available to them. Otherwise online retailers and sport compact stores carry the Tein line of products.

Price:
Around $750-$850

Opinions follow:

The Tein type Basic damper setup is a great entry level coilover kit. First off the build quality to superb, these are quality pieces with nothing flimsy to break or replace. All parts are painted or finished for a long life.

After a year of abuse including 2 cross country trips and 10,000 miles or so, the suspension still holds it's original firm ride and great handling. Spring seats are still easy to adjust due to the wide thread pattern's ability to shed dirt and debris. Paint is still perfect with a little bit of cleaning.

Pros:
Affordable
Wide height adjustability
complete setup built for your application
durrable

Cons:
hard damping characteristics
may damage oem mounts in extreme conditions

Note:
Product tested on a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. Cost of review $800 (group purchase price after shipping), 1 OEM rear mount.

No, but I know a few. The "i before e except after c or in a long a as in neighbor or weigh" dosn't apply to Japaneese.

Good review. I think pronunciations of corporate names should be left out in the future, as I still firmly believe anybody that says they have NAWS in their ride is mentally retarded. Not for having it, but for not knowing that the name of the company that brought N2O to the everyman is Nitrous Oxide Systems, and the acronym is NOS. If we'd leave out the things that don't exactly pertain to the review, it comes of as being much more professional and noteworthy. Also, Clayton's right, try spellcheck, too.

i agree. whenever someone asks me if I have NAWS, I say "NO, I have nitrous express".

Or zex, or NOS, or whatever, but not NAWS. Unless you're sportin' 500 watts into your 4 different 15's, and 4 new Bluapunkt tweets runnin of the stock head-unit. Then you can have NAWS.
