Ok, so i just got back from DynoComp and we set everything up.

We have a dyno day set up for Saturday May 14th. It is $45 a car for three pulls, 10 car minimum. $55 for AWD, and an extra $10 for boost and air/fuel graphs.

We CAN get our SAFCII's tuned on this day. Normally it is $150 for them to tune, but since we are doing a dyno day, they took it down to $100 per car, and the people tuning will be last to go, cause it will take a little longer than the people just dynoing their cars.

There will be a lunch of pizza and drinks, and durring lunch they host a tech quiz where they recap info they have told us throughout the morning. They have a lot of nice little prizes including a $100 Bondurant gift certificate.

Like I said, 10 car minimum. I am hoping we can get at least 5 or 6 cars from this team, but tell anyone about this. optimus310, if you can spread the word to your AZnissans site, lets get a list going.

Let me know if you are down to go.

List:
1. Me (SAFCII tuning)
2. Stampchez
3. Optimus310
4. phat_v (SAFCII tuning)
5. az02specv
6. UncleJim (AZnissans.org)
7. yellospec-v
8. scott campbell (05 Tib GT)
9. hotlicia (AZnissans.org)
10. chris gee (sick ass m3!! :P )
11-13. teenwlf28 +2

****UPDATE****

Just got off the phone with Richard from Dyno Comp. WE ARE STARTING AT 8 AM, NOT 10 like originally planned. This is to make sure we have enough cars dynoed to alot time at the end of the day for at least 3 SAFCII's to be tuned. Any questions, PM me or just post in here, I will try to answer them as quick as i can.

Lets have some fun this saturday. We should be able to get through all the cars and tuning by the end of the day.

I am goin to put you on the list, just cause you have 3+ weeks till the dyno, and if you start working on the engine this weekend, and you have all the tools and know how, i would say it should be done easily within three weeks

az03g
04-21-2005, 01:11 PM
it should be done this weekend ;)

DEFYF8
05-04-2005, 10:48 PM
Starts at 10, when they open for us, and ends whenever we get done.

Last time i went with the AZBMW crowd and they didnt have enough time in the day to get to everyone. They turned the Audi club away after they showed up later in the day. There were 38 cars dyno'd that day. I am looking, personally to get 20-25.

Hey guys I might need to tune my SAFC-II if I get it installed this weekend just to give you a heads up. Also one other guy from B15 might go if he can get out of work, but hes not sure yet.

Later David

i'll give you a call either tomorrow or sat morning when i figure out what my schedule is gonna be like for the day. but i should most likely be able to help you out with it ;)

but please be sure to come prepared with the right instructions/pinouts/wire diagrams. as long as we have the correct diagrams it will be a breeze 8)

DEFYF8
05-06-2005, 03:20 AM
If you want to do it day of, we can do that. If i remember right, David has an 04-05. You can just look at my wires, and count from there. I can also bring the diagram. I found it, and its here on the computer still.

Just let me know. If i am there and you have one to compare too, it will take 20 minutes max.

05-09-2005, 11:09 PM
ok, so the dyno day is this saturday, and everything is looking beautiful. Has anyone heard from chris? if he is going to dyno? or if the SAFCII is in, will he dyno tune it? Haven't heard from him in a few weeks.

Hope he comes with his friends. The more the merrier!!

az03g
05-09-2005, 11:21 PM
i dunno what chris's deal is. i tried calling him this morning and i still haven't heard back from him.

no, his SAFC2 is not installed, yet. but we could probly do that while we're out there. (If he's still coming.)

Brian, if you could do me a favor and contact everyone on that list that isn't on this forum (except for Scott campbell, that's my friend) and let them know that we're meeting up at TeamV HQ at 930 :).

I'll get a hold of the rest of the people. I've got a couple more that are interested, as well.

DEFYF8
05-09-2005, 11:30 PM
Sounds like a plan. I can do all that. Just to let you know, I am going to go there a little earlier in case Rich needs some help with anything. I am going to call him tomorrow to make sure everything is still cool with this Saturday and I will let you know.

Got any spots left? I was sent this way by 97cavie24ls (Eric) on AZCLUBGP. I'd love to hang out and dyno with you guys, assuming I don't get heaps of grief for owning (gasp) an american car. I'm new to the area and have not a thing better to do until my family moves here.

Its an 03 Monte SS, in case you were wondering...

az03g
05-11-2005, 11:56 PM
sure! you're more than welcome!

don't worry. most of us aren't the "domestics suck" type... especially when they're decently fast ones with potential ;)

we'll be heading out there around 10. so you can meet us there if you want, or you can meet us b4 hand and roll in with us together.

that's cool. we actually got a guy out there, too. (chris aka "phat_v") he lives off of I-10 and avondale i believe. look for a silver 04 SpecV on your way :D

PS, just got two more ppl to come. my buddy with his low 13sec GSX and his friend with a turbo 3000GT (not the AWD version, just a swapped motor)

DEFYF8

this is going to be bigger than i thought, oh well, it will be fun.

Anyone going to bring a video camera? or just a digy cam?

UberDuper
05-12-2005, 06:40 AM
So how many cars can they dyno in one day?

UD.

DEFYF8
05-12-2005, 02:00 PM
They did 38 at the BMW dyno day, and they called it a day earlier than normal, cause it was raining and all the gay BMW guys didn't want their precious german cars to get wet. I would bet that they can do like 40 or so. But I don't think we will have any more than 25 dynoing.

Also lets not forget the people who are getting SAFCII's tuned (me, and maybe chris). We get an hour at the end of the day each. So I think we will have enough for one full day of dynoing and tuning. It should be good.

az03g
05-12-2005, 05:28 PM
^^what he said.

i think so far we have like 15 cars dynoing. my two friends are actually coming to do SAFC2 tuning as well. so they'll be going at the end.

PS: I'm sure Marcus will bring his vidcam. if not, i'll steal it from him  and i'll bring my digi.

DEFYF8
05-12-2005, 05:30 PM
I just talked my folks into letting me use their camera. So i will bring their digy cam and their video cam with a fresh tape in it. Hope to see and hear some nice cars.

DEFYF8
05-13-2005, 03:57 AM

05-13-2005, 04:06 AM
I'm trying to get everyone to meet at HQ at 930. We'll leave by 10am. Is that gonna be too late? Should I have ppl meet up earlier?

az03g
05-13-2005, 04:08 AM
nevermind... i just read the original post that you updated. 8am is pretty early :? I dunno if I'd be able to get up and out that early. how long would the SAFC tuning take?

yellospec-v
05-13-2005, 05:33 PM
Well if were going to be meeting at Dyno Comp at 8 am then I dont think Ill be stopping at HQ to meet up with everyone Clayton. Also I will be tuning my SAFC-II that day (thanks to Clayton for that). Where is Dyno Comp exactly?

DEFYF8
05-14-2005, 01:00 AM
Dyno Comp is about 1/2 a mile west of the 101 and Raintree in Scottsdale. I will be there a little before 8, hope it isnt just me till 10...

Was there any turn out after I left?
I wanted to stay around to get me some goodies, but I just couldn't stay any longer. Was hoping for some free dyno time. I'll definitly be going back there. Maybe for an safc tune. :)

After you left there was a yellow spec that put down ~140HP with a CAI, and my buddy showed up with his Audi A4.

The audi, although stock, put down the worst numbers of the day 120.5HP. I laughed at that one. It was a major let down.

But you were there when the maxima showed up right? Not sure what he put down, but damn he smoked up that shop.

yellospec-v
05-16-2005, 01:19 AM
It was a altima and he put down 175 with a 75 shot.

177hp :P and 215TQ ;)

and i swear... james and ryan must have factory freaks...

who is ryan? was he the yellow spec at the end? I thought those numbers were disappointing, I don't remember what they were though.

yes he was the yellow one at the end. disappointing? 144hp for just intake... not very disappointing considering mine only put down 130 N/A :?

DEFYF8
05-16-2005, 05:14 AM
144?? I thought it was high 130's. Damn my memory is off.

You put down 130?? I thought you had an intake also? wouldn't that put you at 144 like ryan?

There is nothing more disappointing though than a $35K car putting down 120.5HP (poor audi). HAHA, well i got a laugh out of it.

az03g

haha. yeah the audi was pretty sad.

that's why i think there's something wrong with my car, or ryan has a factory freak. we both have an AEM intake and he put down 14more HP... :wtf: :?

i doubt colder spark plugs would make that much of a difference...

Clay didn't your engine come from an automatic SE-R?
I thought that engine was a 2.0 liter. :?
That might be your problem

marcus... *sigh* i don't even know what to say to that.
yes the motor did come out of an automatic. It could have been an auto SER or an Altima 2.5s. Both use the qr25.

the only car that currently has the sr20 is the Sentra SE ;) and the sr20 would not bolt up to my car and/or tranny.

Yes Clay I know they have the same engine but the automatic SE-R puts
out less horse power then the spec V.

Hopefully the engine came from an altima.

Thank you for correcting me on the engine for the automatic :D
Point I was trying to make was that the automatic makes less horsepower then the spec V.

az03g
05-16-2005, 07:21 PM
ummm if you knew it was the same engine, why did you say it was a 2.0L :?

anyway... to the best of my knowledge, the 10hp difference was due to either a revised exhaust or different ECU map... not the actual engine block. ;)

i already talked to Pedro saturday night, and he's supposed to find out for me today what car this motor came out of, and if there are any differences.

^^^There is your 10HP claim difference. It is in the ECU, and that is it. exhaust is exactly the same. The spec V has a map that comes close to detonation, that is why it is a premium ONLY car. The SE-R can use rgular because of a more conservative fuel map.
