I Need some help... I need new tires and I need to know if 225/45/17 will fit. I have sportlines. Let me know if any other info is needed.

Don't know much about Specs but it sounds like they should fit. I have 225/45/18s on my car with a 2" drop and it fits perfectly with no gap. The 1" difference should be adequate for your 17"s I'd think? Shan? Bryan?

Went to discount tire. The 225 wont fit. That is to say that they were about an inch higher than the fender when he rolled an unmounted tire next to mine. I had to pay in advance of course so to be safe i just went with 215/45/17 bfgoodrich g-foorce sports.. I wanted the KDW of course but they had to be ordered from the vendor which would have taken an extra two days and the metal on my tires is showing and the rubber is seperating. If they werent such good quality in the first place they would have probably bust awhile ago...

hmmm. well both of us are on adjustable coilvers... so maybe i just didn't realize how low we were compared to the sportlines. i also have my rear fenders rolled.

my fenders aren't rolled. Also, is the guy an idiot? you can roll a tire in front of a car, and it won't mean anything. Once you put that tire ON your car, it raises the car to compensate for the difference. Discount blows balls.

x2. Did you check the price difference between the 225 and the 215? Just curious to see if he got more money by taking the lazy way around. THey can put your car into the system and tell what size wheels/tires will fit, lowered or not. The tire makes up part of the rolling diameter, like Bryan said, it would lift your car a little to compensate. You should go back and roll HIM with a bat. I'll only use Discount in emergencies.
Check your lug nuts BTW to see if they cross-thread them. The last 6 times I used discount, my lugs were cross-thread and that almost always ensures an broken wheel stud. Problem is you won't know until you change/rotate your tires or pull one to work on your car. Then they'll say it wasn't them and you can't prove that it was. I'd check them, and if they're cross-thread, take it back and make them take them off. If the studs are damaged, they have to pay for the repair.

ah well. I already ordered the 215 ill get the 225 next time. Good lookin out though. The guy didnt seem like an idiot and I was thinking that it wasnt the most accurate test. I dont know why he didnt use that fitment calculator if they had one. And the size were pretty much the same price. where do you all go for tires by the way?

We try to go through Clayton and Bryan on here cause they work at Sport Compact Only, so we get REALLY good deals and they make some kash (my new word spelling). My last set of tires was probably the same cost as 2-3 of the ones you just got a Discount, and they were 225/45/18's.

haha, those prices on the site are more of a guideline for people we know and take care of, think about that price, and reduce it :)

 well the good news is the tires are on and they feel great...thats about it...Thanks to BF. The service at discount tire was decent too quick and efficient, not very busy either. Oh well I promise my buisiness goes through SCO from now on!
